2008 Caledonia Car Show Preview Photo's

From the President:

By the time the newsletter comes out, our show will be over with and packed away for another year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for all your hard work to pull this show off.  As I write this, the weather forecast is calling for possible showers, we hope for the best, but it is something we have no control over. I sit here listening to the radio about fuel costs, which I’m sure is on everyone’s mind these days, how oil has now hit $140.00 a barrel and they are forecasting we could see $7.00 a gal by fall.  Friends, I’m afraid this will not be over anytime soon. Our hobby has gone through times like this in the 70’s, the energy crisis. We will scrimp here and there; carpool etc., just to save a little to buy the “golden nectar” for our toys. I can remember as a kid, when money got tight, supper consisted of hot dogs and Kraft macaroni & cheese. And I look back now and think of those as good times, even though it didn’t seem like it. We will endure it this time also. Hopefully, our country will become a little more self-sufficient, so we do not have to depend on foreign oil so much.

I would like to welcome new members, Sam and Marissa Andolina to our fold. There is more information about their classics further in the newsletter.

Our next meeting will start out at the Sodus Lighthouse with a picnic and meeting to follow at Ron and Alice Bill‘s house. Be sure to contact Angela Sablosky with what you are bringing. We may even have a report on the car show ready.

I will close now. Susanna is calling from the kitchen for me to fire up the grill. I’m having a red and a white tonight.

Take care all,

 Larry Heins

Please welcome new club members Sam and Marissa Andolino from Rochester.  They have a Red 1963 Corvair Convertible, an Evening Orchid 1965 Corvair Convertible, a Marina Blue 1966 Corvair Coupe and a Red 1969 Firebird.

Lee and I had a chance to talk with Sam and Marissa at dinner after the last meeting.  Lee and Marissa both grew up in Spencerport and went to the same schools - different years, but they knew alot of the same teachers.  So they hit it off pretty well.
