From the President:

Well the days are counting down to our show, Our one big event of the year. Thank you to all who have gotten back to me so far, about whether you can be there or not. I will be turning in the sponsor names for the awards on June 14th, to give Lamont time to do the plaques. Our next meeting will be at the Jones Hall ( show site), to get an idea where we are going to put things, set a date to do goodie bags, etc. We will then head over to Tom Wahl’s in Avon for a bite to eat. Happy Anniversary to Bill and Angela Sablosky this month, and Happy Birthday to all of our members who were June babies. In closing I hope to see most of you at the show and thank you for all the hard work.

Larry Heins

Humorous Quotes:

For Father’s Day

“A woman knows all about her children, She knows about dentist appointments, soccer games, romances, best friends, location of friend’s houses, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house”.  --Unknown

“You know your children have grown up when they stop asking where they came from and refuse to tell you where they are going”   --Unknown

“A father is someone who carries pictures where his money used to be”  --Unknown

“A youth becomes a man when the marks he wants to leave on the world have nothing to do with tires”.

Last month’s meeting minutes for April were published online.

Motion to accept the minutes as published made by Sonny, Second by Lee M.

Treasurer’s report:  We’ve received a few more fees for entrants, and vendors for the car show.  We need to work on sponsors.  Bill turned in a sponsor fee at the meeting.

Correspondence:  We received an email from the son of a prior club member regarding a new cruise night – Tuesday’s at Maxie’s Ice Cream in Penfield.

Spurr Cruise is July 25th

MG car show is coming up on June 1st

Street Machines car show is June 8th

Lockport show is June 22nd

All Ford Cruise is June 22nd

President’s Report:  To get a copy of the corporate resolution, it will cost $93.  The thought is to table that until after the car show.

Committee reports:  Car Show – We are receiving lots of goody bag stuffers – from Haggerty, Tompkins.  Lee, Bill and Scott picked up some at Carlisle.  Someone suggested calling McQuires for more.

We are also collecting door prizes, but need more.  Also, all sponsor fees should be in by June 15th so the plaques can be made. The final version of the plaque is done and getting printed.

The Manchester’s canopy’s will not be available this year, so if you have one, please bring it.  Sonny and Jean each volunteered.

Both member’s and participants have complained about the music being too loud.  We need to find a good location for the DJ this year and ask him to tone it down some.  We know announcements are made and door prizes are called from his booth.  Maybe making a poster to add the door prize numbers to as they are called would help.  People can check the board to see if they have won.  Then if they didn’t hear the DJ call it, they have another way to know.

The fire department is all set to do the food again this year.  They will be cutting back on donuts.  They will have hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, and Pepsi products.

We questioned if we will have the car bashing this year.  We will decide that in a couple weeks.

Old Business:  The website activities page has been updated with our cruise to the Sodus Point Lighthouse in July.  Picnic to follow.  Please call Angela to let her know what your dish to pass will be.  Also, Bill is happy to get suggestions for the website.  If you have idea’s, let him know.

New Business:  none at this time.

Next Meeting:  We will meet in Caledonia at the show field at 4:00 pm, June14th.  We will cruise to Tom Whals in Avon to eat afterwards.

Tech nights We may be slowing down on the tech nights at the Manchester’s as Scott is running out of money and has a new baby coming.  He has also been working long hours lately.  Check with Lee to see what is going on as there are still a few things he wants to do on the El Camino to get the garage to a point where he can do other things.

Meeting ended at 7:50 pm

50/50 winner – Linda Tefft - $10.50

Attendance winner – Scott Martin – not present.
