March 2008
From the President: Spring? is closer than we think; at least we are starting to get a little sun now, to help recharge the batteries. I hope everyone had a nice Easter Holiday. Welcome to new member Linda Tefft, Linda joined at our last meeting she owns a 1972 Olds Cutlass. Our show is coming together pretty good at the moment, June Dick is out doing a fine job of getting sponsors. Bill is sending out requests for door prizes and goodie bag stuffers. The show pins are in; I pass them out to members as I see them at meetings or tech nights. The Street Machines Mall Show is coming up the first week of May, if you are interested in putting your car in the mall, Bill Sablosky has the information. The next meeting will be at the Nutcracker, April 12th 6pm to eat, 7pm meeting, I will be out of town, so Bill will be running the meeting. On the agenda, you will need to decide where you would like to go the next couple of months to meet, suggestions are welcomed keep in mind the place you suggest, needs to be able to accommodate us having a meeting. Everyone take care, Questions or concerns; do not hesitate to call me 303-9580.

President’s Report: New section from club president - Original copy of Corporate Papers can not be found. Can we have Claudia find out about getting a copy. Last meeting we had a question about the possibility of changing the club name. We have been a club for 28 years. Originally it was only 55, 56 & 57 Chevy’s. We now accept any cars. Larry has the opinion that we should keep the tradition by keeping the name the same. We should focus our energies on our Car Show and make it successful. Committee reports: Car Show – June 29th We anticipate a better show this year since we will not be competing with Lockport. Bill is working on advertising. Phil seems to busy this year, so Bill is working on door prizes and goody bag stuffers. Everyone should ask for door prizes and sponsors. Larry talked with Phil and he has been involved with the language program at his daughter’s school. Bill will call DJ – hoping price will be the same $350 which is reasonable. He has his own following as he does Ricks Prime Rib and others. We may need to find a different spot for him as some people complained about the loud speakers. We will still set the door prizes up near him. Car Show pins are in all members should receive one. We currently have $650 in sponsor fees (26), thanks in large part to June Dick. We also have 2 entrants and 1 vendor. We need to get those flyers out. Trophy’s are just over $1,063 total. We need $500 down payment. Lee can drop off a check. Motion made by Sonny to accept, Joe 2nd, all in favor. Old Business: Tabled club name change.
