Finger Lakes Classic Chevy Club

From the President,

Come on Spring, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m ready. What a fantastic February Potluck dinner!!  It was a great location and thank you to all who provided such wonderful dishes. It was great to see some new faces, and some old friends. Our thoughts go out to George Nick, wishing him a speedy recovery from his recent surgery. Now is the time to start gearing up for our show in June, flyers have been printed, they will be available at club meetings or see Lee Manchester, myself or Bill Sablosky. Everyone please try and get a business or organization you are familiar with to sponsor an award, a 25.00 sponsorship gets they’re name on the award advertising their business. I have receipts that you can give to your sponsors so they are able to do a tax deduction. The next meeting will be at the Nutcracker, 6:00 eat, 7:00 meeting. See you there, stay warm.

Larry

PS

In other news, my son Matt one of our associate members, received Explorer of the Year from the Caledonia Fire Dept. the letters and paperwork are now forwarded to Livingston County to be possibly nominated for the Western New York Volunteer Fireman’s award. Congratulations Matt.

One Vendor registration has been received.

Larry D.’s car is on the artwork for pins and flyers we need to order the pins.

Old Business:  Franchise Tax has been filed and paid.  Claudia had to file online and pay with a credit card, so she is owed $29.50  Motion to reimburse Claudia for this cost made by Bill and seconded by June, motion passed.

We have our tax ID number and all checks received by the club should now be made out to Finger Lakes Classic Chevy Club.  Bill is working on changing the password for the website everyone will be notified by email.

New Business:  Discussion on number of pins to order for the car show.  Motion to order 300 pins made by Lee, seconded by June, motion passed. The vendor registered for the show sells hats and T-shirts.  Discussion on ordering club shirts and hats for new members.  Motion made by Bill to order 20 shirts and hats, seconded by Norm, motion passed.

Suggestion by Lee regarding the possibility of changing the name of the club to remove “Chevy” and insert “Car” thinking that the name Chevy is limiting.  People may not join because they think you need a Chevy.  We have several members who have other makes and models of cars.  Our information sheet posted on the website indicates that we invite everyone and you don’t even need to have a car to join, let alone a Chevy.  Discussion was tabled for now.

Note: George Nick has been very ill and in the hospital.  Fred will send a card from the club. He has since been home and isn't up to full strength as of yet. Hang in there George we all miss you and pray for your recovery.

Dorothy French made a motion to make a $50 donation to the church for letting us use the space for the pot luck.  Bill seconded.  Motion passed.

Jim B gave his thanks for the invitation to join us for the pot luck and said it was good to see everyone again.  We were very glad to see so many guests.
