FLCCC January Meeting:

Minutes for January 12, 2008

Called to order @ 7:15 pm

Location: Nutcracker Restaurant, Webster, NY

FLCCC January Meeting Minutes

Guest/ New member:

  • Guest/New Member: Tom Morgan Tom owns a 57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door
hardtop. Tom heard about our club from Wayne Wolfe who referred him to
Sonny French. When he called Sonny today, he was told we have a meeting
tonight and he would be welcome to come. Tom joined the club before the
    end of the meeting
    .

Previous Meeting Minutes:

  • November minutes accepted as reported in Novembers newsletter.  Motion made by Fred Cassin and seconded by Lee Manchester.

Correspondence:

  • Larry received the certificate of insurance for the car
show and confirmation of our 2008 membership in Chevy International.

Treasurer Report:

  • All treasurer's reports will only be at monthly meetings.

Committee Reports:

  • Car Show - no flyers yet because we forgot to pick
a members car at the Christmas party to feature on the pins and
flyers. This was done before the end of the meeting and the feature car
will be Larry DiLullo's 1965 Ford Fairlane.

The show will be listed on - http://www.rodandpiston.com/wnycarclubs.asp  Larry DiLullo suggested that everyone take turns at shows and events prior to our show passing out flyers.

Old Business:

  • Claudia brought to the clubs attention that the by laws actually state that both the president and treasurer should sign checks. There was discussion on weather it is really necessary to have two signatures. As long as the club votes on what checks are to be written, one signature should be sufficient. Fred also did not remember having to have two signatures when he was treasurer. So should we amend the by laws? The bylaws were checked and we have enough for a quorum to make a change tonight if that is what we want to do.

  • Motion made by Fred Cassin and seconded by Sonny French to amend Article 8 section 4 to the effect that either the treasurer or president may sign checks, but only one signature is required. All in favor, no opposed. Motion carried.

New Business:

Thanks to Bill and Angela Sablosky for hosting the Christmas party a good time was had by all. Larry Heins. thanked everyone for their confidence in electing him president
and hopes to do a good job. He questioned if we should remove the newsletter from the website and post it to the members only section. Discussion to the effect that our financial information should remain private, but the minutes can still be posted as there may be useful information to others for the car show and future meetings.
On this same subject, it was brought to our attention that the members logon has not changed in quite a while, so before private information is posted, this will be updated. Current members will be notified of the new password.

Larry Heins. discussed keeping the meetings at one location during the
winter months, might be less confusing as to where we are meeting and
can the place we have the meeting accommodate us. We seem to get the
most members at the Nutcracker, so it was suggested and decided upon to
have the March and April meetings back at the Nutcracker.
